The mission of the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, Social Work, Criminology and Criminal Justice is to provide quality undergraduate and graduate teaching, furnishing students with insight and understanding of the dynamics of their society, culture, and environment, and preparing them to participate in a complex and diverse social world. The Department seeks to serve the local community, state and nation by conducting research and extension/outreach programs to assist others in understanding and managing the society around them and their social affairs. The Department encourages professional development.
